re: 1800 Summer overheating

Hello. I am a member of the club and was wondering if somebody could help me with a couple of queries?  Whilst waiting at the side of the M25 waiting for my 1800 to cool down, me and Dad discussed the possibility of adding a second fan to the radiator and fitting a switch to the dashboard. I guess someone in the club must have done this, and I would be grateful if they could advise me on what make/type of new fan to fit.  Also, I suspect my Alternator is on the way out.  Does anyone know if I can get a suitable, up-rated alternator, compatible with my car.  Best regards.
