Hi derek, You don't give any measurements but I found that when ""pumping up"" any tendency to go higher than 14.5 inches at the front does give a nose up attitude. The repair manual data for ride height is 14.5"" measured from hub centre to wing bottom, on the front wing, at 354 psi. You do have to bounce and roll the car at the pressure datum too to get the correct measurement, I found. For the record the unloaded figure for the back is 11.2"" but this is not used in setting. Hopefully this will fix your problem and It doesn't sound like a collapsed displacer if the car is not low on one side. The other glitch sounds like you have the ignition too advanced and the tappety noise is actually pinking. I found that setting with a strobe is not successful with these old 6 cylinder engines and you have to go back to the old fashioned setting and then final tweaking after a road test method. Try setting the ignition basically and then advancing a bit at a time to make it just pink under load on a hill then back off a fraction. If it is already pinking then do the same but retard the distributor. I have one of the best adjustable strobe lights on the market but had to resort to the above method - the engine runs smooth as silk now! Good luck with it anyway. Dave
